What weight are your fish ??

Postby alison on Wed Jul 16, 2008 1:46 pm

Just wondering how many of us know what any of our fish weigh. Last week my son caught and weighed 3 of my fish. The golden orfe weighed 4lbs, one of my goldfish weighed 2lbs and my ghost koi weighed a tad short of 8lbs. When we watch them in the pond we don't always realise what size they are. It is only when they are pulled up in the net that you can see the girth. It is always a surprise especially as we have had them from the tiny little specimens they sell in the pet shop.

All I know is a few of mine are a bit lighter now than they were before the weekend judging by all the eggs on everything :D :?

That's brilliant. None of my fish have ever had babies :( except the sticklebacks of course. Maybe the bigger fish have always eaten any eggs but I have never seen any.

Most of the fish in my pond are 'home grown'. :D

The original four goldies laid loads of eggs just before three of them got eaten, I rescued two Shubunkins that were on the verge of being flushed and brought a comet to keep the remaining original company.

Last count was 47 fish. I don't want any more ................. :?
