Its about 18" in diameter and the top would be 1.5" deep ay the most, the hole in the centre would be 6 to 8 inches deep and 3 to 4 inches in diameter.
What do you think? She thinks I, out of sheer cussedness, am saying no just to be an awkward S.O.B.

On this occasion I don't think you're being a SOB!!! Its a pretty birdbath Sean. If your mum wants lilies, why not get a large ceramic pot?

What's the latest news on your tropicals?

I think it is a really lovely birdbath. I agree with you both. Get a really nice ceramic pot and put a lily in that. My friend got a half barrel which she used with a lily in and then put a couple of goldfish in. When that did so well she got a large ceramic pot and did it again. :lol:
