Pictures from the upstairs window

The first is a Jay that seems to have taken a liking to the garden recently

Red Kites are now regular visitors to the skys above the house.
Often there are 4 out there together.

But occasionally they have a bit of a squabble

Not my garden but on a recent visit to my sisters, apparently this and it's friends are regular visitors.

This afternoon I went outside to see what the seagulls were making such a fuss about and saw a red kite fighting with a crow (just like in your photos!) and being chased by the gulls. Wonderful sight!

It is lovely to know there are such different views from our gardens but they all contain birds. I love the pictures Richard. What a wonderful sight you have every day. Sonny takes quite a few photos of the red kite as they were reintroduced near us recently which has been a great success. I love the pic of the Jay as it is only the 2nd I have ever seen. I saw one up in Temple newsam and had to ask Sonny what bird it was as I had never seen one before. How lovely to have Parakeets (I think) feeding in the garden. How exotic is that. 8)
It was lovely to hear you mention the gulls Tricia as it played a picture in my mind of being in Cornwall in a small fishing village and seeing so many gulls on the harbour. I was only 11 years old at the time but it just reminded me of it (42 years later) :D

They are actually Richards photo's Kaz but I am sure he will let you off with you thinking they are Sonny's. It just shows you have the same expert eye Richard for a truly wonderful photo. :D

He's bought a new camera so they are even better than ever now. He got the Canon 7d it's great you can even video from it. I wonder what he is going to do with the two previous canons he still has. They all have benefits so I guess he will keep them all along with the Sony video recorder etc etc etc.. :D
