Rats in the Garden?

Postby Ponddipperdave on Thu Feb 27, 2014 12:53 am

I found two dead rats in the garden last autumn. Obviously been killed by cats.
Now, I have discovered a maze of burrows under the roots of my hedge and the cats have a particular interest in them, gazing at them for hours on end.
They are right underneath my bird feeding station so I guess it's free food for them.
Anyone had anything similar?
Hi All,

I opened my compost bin and there was one there!
When I see them I stop feeding so much, and use the feeders only, not the table or ground.

We have a lot of cats in our gardens so haven't had any problems with rats at all. We also have a fox that comes in most nights so I am sure they have scared any rats away. What a shame though Dave will you need to strengthen your foundations. My Son is a pest controller if you need one to get rid of your rats for you. He has been doing a lot of moles over the past months on lots of farmers fields before they put their livestock in.
