Not seen before

We had a really good surprise a few weeks ago on the Purple Loosestrife next to the pond.We noticed a brown caterpillar on the leaves. I had never seen one like it before but Sonny had many years ago. It is a Pink Hawk Moth. We watched it munching away for some days and then it disappeared down into the undergrowth of the plant to wait until spring when it will hatch its way out as a fully grown moth. I can't wait to see that happen.
