LOOK WHO CAME FOR LUNCH

Postby alison on Sun May 19, 2013 3:13 pm

I have noticed recently a few of these on my lily plants and they have been munching away.
I took two off and felt awful as they were mating but do we want more anyway?
I don't like to kill anything and so I brought one in to have a look at on my microscope.
I love looking at the way they are made up as to our naked eye they are just little bugs with thin legs and antenae
but when you look at them through the microscope all their joints etc are made so visable.
Who would have thought that their antenae are made up of little sections. I just love them
and I guess they have to eat to live too. I will still take them off when I see them but if they
have munched some leaves then so be it. :D

Wow that was some good information there. Thankyou Dave. I hate killing insects so it will be hard to do but if they become a pest to me then I guess I will do it. I had noticed them last year for the first time but didn't have many.
