Think what I'll do is start to build a scrapbook of the plants I'd like... this will keep me busy in the boring winter evenings. I fancy a greenhouse too, but not sure where to stick it (if I could afford it :? ). I don't have room to over-winter plants :(

If you were going to buy them now I would still put them in. The weather forcasters are never right. And if it was a cold winter as long as there is enough rain I think they would be okay. On a different subject How are your rushes growing now? I cut back all my iris in the pond and they have already sent up new shoots.

The forecasters never seem to get it right Kristin :?

Alison... what a very brave enquiry  Now I'll have to nip out and take a picture you know (chuckle). They are doing so well :D. Trouble with this laptop is I have to come offline to connect camera (a bit of respite for you all  )!

????
You have more than one pond?
Is this on on the veranda? Plants are looking lovely, (I'm green with envy  )
Are your Pond plants in pots? Or did you plant them directly on a shelf or something? It's very tidy and neat ;)
So what's wrong with the Duck-weed? (I think it looks great :? )

Kristin, I must say your English is excellent... and to be able to write it so well too :D

There is a small raised pond on my patio. Its made from railway sleepers. This whole area needs a while to mature / blend. The pond plants are in pots and have gone crazy. That reed was given to be by my dad... it was a cut down titchy thing when I got it (there's pics of its fast growth rate somewhere on this forum). As for the duck weed, I don't mind it in the small patio pond, but somehow its got into the big pond... mind you, I'd forgotten about it down there and it may be gone :D

ohh  thanks Kaz - but I think my limited english vocabulary will become visible any day now ;)

Is the Duck weed such 'blasted stuff' because it grows too fast and suffocates other plants?
-one curious here, I'm planning for next spring you see, ... so good to know what to 'toss in there' and what to avoid ... ;)
