I found a newt

This little fella was hiding under 'Poached Egg' plant
I moved him onto the leaf of a water lily and he disappeared into the pond :)

"He" is probably feeling a bit embarassed.....I think she's a smooth newt!
Now you could try dipping a jar or clear plastic container into the water in the weed at the edge. Then lift up to the light and see if you've got any babies.

Hi, It might also be a palmate newt (sorry). Have you seen any males?
